Friendships are supposed to be easy, right?
Well why the hell aren’t they, then?
We’re told all our lives that if a friendship is true, it shouldn’t be hard work and should be smooth sailing. I call immediate bullshit: A friendship, like any other relationship, can and will have its own trajectory – ups, downs, violent and unexpected sideways swerves, gentle meanders in opposite directions, and if you’re lucky, plenty of calm waters.
So the first thing on my list of 36, for that exact reason, is this:
